Courses
METL courses are aligned to the examinations offered by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS):
- The full Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE) are for those studying for membership of the ICS
- The Advanced Diploma is for those with some industry experience who wish to gain a qualification but are not yet seeking membership of the ICS
- The Foundation Diploma is for those with little industry experience who wish to gain a qualification and some practical shipping knowledge.
Successful completion of any examination subject in either diploma will count towards the balance of PQE.
All subjects follow the ICS syllabus.
The subject syllabus remains the same whether the subject is taken as part of the Professional Qualifying Examinations, the Advanced Diploma or Foundation Diploma.
In order to take the ICS examinations, you must register with the Institute and pay directly to the Institute all fees for Student Registration and for Examinations Entry and, if appropriate, for any Exemptions, which can only be granted by the Institute.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with the Institute's regulations.
N.B. If your employer is paying for your studies, please note that an invoice will be sent to the student's email address with proof of payment.
METL also provides bespoke training for companies. Contact us to discuss your needs.
