Richard Sarll
Richard Sarll is a barrister specialising in commercial and admiralty law. He was called to the Bar in 2005 and practises at 7, King’s Bench Walk, a set of barristers’ chambers with a leading reputation in shipping litigation and arbitration. Richard’s practice encompasses disputes involving contracts for the carriage of goods, contracts for sale of goods, marine insurance policies, shipbuilding contracts, salvage, general average, and collision. He is currently instructed in a USD 100 million dispute arising out of the total loss of the tanker, “Brillante Virtuoso” by fire in 2011. Richard was himself a student of METL between 2008 and 2010 and took evening classes in dry cargo chartering, tanker chartering, and ship operations and management. He has given occasional lectures within the “Legal Principles” course offered by METL since 2010.
