John M Sullivan
John M. Sullivan – BA Hons FCILT
John holds a B.A. (Hons) Business Studies degree and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
He is Commercial Manager at Second Wind Shipping Ltd, a company whose services to shipowners, lawyers and financial institutions include ship sale and purchase, advice on market cycles and investment strategies, sourcing finance, due diligence, valuations, project evaluation, tracking, arrest and sale of assets as well as full de-facto ownership.
John has lectured as part of the METL team since its inception in 2002. He also lectures for Lloyd’s Maritime Academy PLC, Plymouth University and World Maritime University by invitation.
As an expert witness, he has provided reports and given evidence to numerous arbitration disputes.
He commenced in competitive Sale & Purchase broking in January 1976 and has concluded almost 500 sales of ships of all the main types including sales with timecharter or finance attached. In addition to operating his own broking company, he has held senior broking positions in several leading London shipbroking companies. Prior to joining Second Wind Shipping Ltd., he was Sale & Purchase Manager at V Ships PLC between 2001 and 2010, where he was responsible for introducing new clients, maintaining the group client base and developing group and competitive projects requiring financial evaluation, commercial and technical management.
