George Panayides

George Panayides MA Hons (Edin)  FICS

Since 1995, George has worked at NS Lemos & Co. Ltd., the London-based agents for the Greek ship-management company Enesel SA. Having started his career working in Operations, he moved to the Chartering Department in 1998 and has been a Director there since 2004.
 
George has extensive experience in the spot and period chartering of dry cargo, crude tanker and container vessels as well as concluding a significant number of sale & purchase transactions. His focus extends to research, project development and business planning.
 
Since 2003, George has also been responsible for the provision of all types of insurance for the managed fleet, including Hull & Machinery, Loss of Hire, P&I and War Risks. He is also responsible for handling all marine claims.
 
George has been a lecturer at METL since 2003, preparing students for their qualifying examinations in the Dry Cargo Chartering, Tanker Chartering and Shipping Business courses.
 
He holds a Masters degree in Politics and Modern History from Edinburgh University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from London Guildhall University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
